Indeco community school
Indeco is een arm schooltje dat is gevestigd in een oude slagerij. Margot heeft hier 4 weken les gegeven.
De klaslokalen zien er erg armoedig uit. In het plafond van de school zitten grote gaten waardoor je bijna naar buiten kunt kijken. Helaas ligt het vervangen van een plafond een beetje buiten ons budget maar verder kan deze school ook flink wat hulp gebruiken. Schoolboeken zijn er niet, tafeltjes en stoeltjes begeven het bijna en de liniaal voor het bord wordt bij elkaar gehouden met tape. De leerlingen komen uit gezinnen die heel weinig geld hebben. Geld voor een schooluniform is er niet en veel kinderen beschikken niet over de benodigde schoolspullen.
Daarom doneren we schoolspullen en schoolboeken aan Indeco. Er wordt op dit moment overlegd met het hoofd van de school wat het hardst nodig is. Zodra we concreet kunnen zeggen waar ons geld naartoe gaat, komt het hier te staan.

Hi Tessa and Margot
How are you both doing? I do hope things are going well for you both.
I have a last had a meeting with Kay at INDECO and asked her what she would like the donation to go towards.
As you may know they are trying to buy a plot of land and then build a new school on that.
She would really like her money to go towards the new classroom block.
I said are you sure you don't want any stationery, school books etc but the answer was no.
As we don't give cash to donors, we will buy cement or bricks or something like that
when the time comes and of course keep you updated.
The weather here very hot now, low 40's most days which makes things very tiring!
